Held at Shasha Community in ALIMOSHO, Lagos State – The Vessels of Virtue has concluded its flagship outreach, and Operation Feed a Thousand Children 2026, with what organizers are calling the most successful edition yet. This initiative provided nutritious meals, drinks and words of hope to 1,000 children across underserved communities in Alimosho LGA.
The project, powered by VOV members, volunteers, partners, donors, and friends, turned compassion into action. Long queues turned into smiles as each child was served, prayed for, and reminded that they are seen and valued.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, VOVS President Becky Olanipekun expressed gratitude and credited the success to divine help and collective effort.
“This year’s outreach proves what happens when God leads and people unite,” she said. “1,000 children in Alimosho were fed, but more than food, they received dignity and hope. The glory goes to God, and our deep appreciation goes to every partner, supporter, family member, and volunteer who gave their time, resources, and prayers. You didn’t just feed stomachs — you fed futures.”
Parents and guardians at the feeding centers shared emotional testimonies. For many, the outreach came at a time of rising food costs and economic strain.
“My children ate a full, balanced meal today and I didn’t have to choose between food and school materials,” said one beneficiary mother from Alimosho. “VOV has lifted a burden off our shoulders. May God bless everyone involved.”
The Organizers noted increased turnout, better coordination, and stronger community engagement compared to previous years.
VOV promised that Operation Feed A Thousand Children will return in 2027 with plans to expand to more communities and reach even more children. For now, the organization says the impact of this year’s success will be measured not just in meals served, but in the renewed hope seen on the faces of the children of Alimosho.
The outreach reaffirms VOV’s commitment to community service and its belief that feeding a child today is investing in a stronger tomorrow.
